Correctional (Jail) Division
The Correctional Division is the largest division within the Sheriff's department. It has the responsibility of the safety and welfare of inmates placed in the County's custody.
The Correctional Divison is made up of:
- A captain
- Lieutenants
- Correctional officer III's (Sergeants) - act as first line shift supervisors
- Correctional officer II's (CO-II) - responsible for booking, central control, and housing units
- Correctional officer I's (CO-I) - act as court bailiffs, perform transports, and assist in the jail
- and program staff - coordinate programs such as work release, screen inmates who may be eligible for Community Service work, library services, recreation, self-help groups such as Alcoholics / Narcotics Anonymous, education and various volunteer religious groups.
The Jail Administration offices include:
- a Jail Administrator
- an Assistant Jail Administrator
- and support staff
