Citizens of Stearns County elect candidates to serve in a variety of offices.

The first is County Commissioner. There are five commissioners, each representing the residents in their own voter district. The County Board of Commissioners oversees county operations and addresses citizen concerns.

In addition to Commissioner, four other positions are elected by citizens:

the County Attorney
the County Auditor/Treasurer
the County Recorder
the County Sheriff

Each of these elected officials acts as the director for his/her office, and is accountable to the residents of Stearns County.
