The Auditor/Treasurer serves as the central accounting office for the county. This office is responsible for a wide variety of services, some of which are:
- Processing of merchant-related licenses and permits
- Election administration and voter registration
- Vehicle, driver and game/fish licenses
- Birth and death certificates; passports
- Cash management and investment of all County funds
- Collection of property tax payments
- Preparation of the County's financial statements, receipts and payroll
- Maintenance of tax records, plats, deeds, special assessments and related documents
- Remonumentation of government section markers
- Reviewal of plats, maps and legal descriptions
- Maintenance of GIS data for use by departments, local agencies and the public
The County Auditor/Treasurer performs these duties with help from staff in three divisions:
- License Centers/Treasurer Office
- Land Management/County Surveyor/GIS
- Finance
