Rules & Regulations

Stearns County enforces many different types of rules and regulations.

Some are regulations we are required to enforce, due to federal or state law. These include the Data Practices Policy and HIPAA rules.

Some are state and federal regulations for which Stearns County is the designated enforcement agency. Examples of this type include feedlot rules, wetland regulations, and environmental health rules.

Finally, Stearns County adopts its own regulations covering other policy areas, including parks regulations and planning and zoning rules.
