Mobile Command Center
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office Mobile Command Center was developed and implemented in the fall of 1999. The Command Center is a converted 26' camper trailer. The interior has been modified to meet the needs of Sheriff's personnel at major events.
The Mobile Command Center has been used at events such as the Sheriff's Wagon Trail and Sheriff's Mounted Reserve Training. Its primary function, however, is that of a mobile office at major crime scenes and searches.
The Command Center stores various materials needed for crime scene investigation, provides privacy for on-scene interviews, and provides a secure area for investigators to discuss case issues. It also serves as a base of operations for search-and-rescue events.
