Property Tax Payment Options

There are five convenient ways for you to pay your property taxes:

Option 1: Pay by Internet

The Stearns County automated electronic payment system allows you to pay your current real estate and mobile property taxes over the internet using either E-Check or Visa / Mastercard.  Pay 24 hours a day up to 12:00 p.m. Visit Online Services to pay by internet.

Option 2: Monthly or Quarterly Payment Plans

These payment plans will help you in several ways. Your payments spread out over either a quarterly or a 10 month period. The payments are automatically deducted from your checking or savings account. This saves time, and there are no checks to write. It helps meet your commitment in a convenient and timely manner, even if you're out of town or on vacation. No lost or misplaced statements, and your payment is always on time. There are no late charges. It saves on postage charges. It's easy to sign up for, and easy to cancel. Payment plans are available by selecting: Quarterly Plan or 10 month plan or by calling (320) 656-3870.

Option 3: In Person

Make your payment at either the Treasurer's Office or at License Center West.

Option 4: Escrow

Your escrow agent may be escrowing your property taxes for you. The escrow agent is responsible for paying your property taxes by the due date. If you aren't sure if your taxes are being escrowed, contact your escrow agent.

Option 5: U.S. Mail

Just return your payment stub along with a check or money order for the correct amount to the Treasurer's office. Your payment must be postmarked by the Post Office on or before the due date. If your taxes were not escrowed, pre-addressed envelopes are included with your tax statement.

By sending your check, please be aware that you are authorizing Stearns County to make a one-time electronic debit from your account at the financial institution indicated on your check. This electronic debit will be for the amount of your check; no additional amount will be added to the amount of your check.
