Public Hearing and Draft Environmental Assessment for the Reconstruction of 33rd Street South from TH 15 to CSAH 75

Stearns County encourages the public to attend a public hearing for the proposed reconstruction of 33rd Street South (S.P. 73-684-04). The proposed project is located in the Cities of St. Cloud and Waite Park, Stearns County, Minnesota. The hearing will be held on April 29th, 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30 at St. Cloud City Hall, 400 2nd St. South, St. Cloud, MN 56301.

The purpose of the hearing is to inform the public about the project, and encourage the public to comment and ask questions. Maps, drawings, and other pertinent information, including the Draft Environmental Assessment and other project documents developed for the proposal, as well as written views received from local, state, and federal agencies, will be available for public inspection and copying. During the hearing the public will be able to discuss the project with Stearns County officials along with representation from Bonestroo, who conducted the study. Comments will be received either written or verbally (by a court recorder), and will become part of the official public hearing record. The comments will be considered when making future project related decisions.

The proposed scope of the project includes 33rd Street South from TH 15 to CSAH 75 as a four lane, divided section, with intersection improvements and a bike trail along the entire corridor.  33rd Street South will be extended west and a new interchange will be constructed at the connection with TH 15.
