Descriptive Narrative:
High walls of rock outcrop stand on the south and west side of Quarry Seventeen. Red granite is dominant, but gray granite is preserved in natural outcrops extending westward to Quarry Sixteen. Contact areas between red and gray granite, basalt dikes, and shear zones are found in the west high wall that connects Quarry Seventeen with Quarry Eighteen to the north.
No depth survey was completed on Quarry Seventeen because it is so small and so shallow. Most of the quarry has less than 5 feet of water; there is a slightly deeper hole in the northwest corner which is the size of a single block.
No Contour Map -- dry quarry
