Descriptive Narrative:
Quarry Eighteen has a high south wall with continuous natural outcrop to Quarry Seventeen. Along the south wall there is a basalt dike with associated shear zones and gray granite. The northern and northeast walls are dominantly red granite. There is some glacial polish in the northeast corner.
This is one of the largest quarries in the park and has a maximum depth of 58 feet. Spoils blocks are extensive on the southeast side and on the west, where only blocks separate Quarry Eighteen and Nineteen. Fish are commonly observed.
