Descriptive Narrative:
One of the best-exposed faults in Quarry Park is located along the west side of Quarry Nine. There is a shelf just

above water level that is red granite, but the high west wall is dominantly gray. Complex red and gray granite relationships on the east wall suggest other possible faults. Although there is a lot of gray granite on the walls, the quarry was probably "cored" with red granite.
Extensive natural outcrops of gray granite are relatively continuous with quarry walls to the west and south.
Quarry Nine is a medium-sized quarry with a maximum depth of 45 feet. Spoils blocks are neatly stacked along the north side and above the rock wall on the eastside. Most of the quarry walls are rock outcrop.
