Stearns County is home to 294 lakes and 189 rivers and streams, including the Chain of Lakes. This provides us with ample resorts, campgrounds and good swimming and fishing.

The numerous lakes and rivers in Stearns County support a thriving tourist trade, particularly during the summer months. Many of the smaller towns in the county welcome visitors to local resorts, and several waterways have public access. Residents and visitors alike spend their time:

The fun doesn't end when snow flies. Stearns County also has many groomed snowmobile trails, ice fishing on area lakes, and cross-country and downhill ski areas.
