Spring Hill County Park Closed for Special Deer Hunt
Stearns County Parks Department has partnered with Midwest Outdoors Unlimited to provide deer hunting opportunities for people with a physical disability. The goal is to allow the disabled an opportunity to get outside, participate in hunting activities, and hopefully improve their quality of life.
"The opportunity to be in the woods was enjoyable because of the beautiful weather. Watching squirrels and the sound of geese was noticeable to one who does not get in the "wild" like I used to." (2013 participant)
Each deer hunter is partnered with a volunteer (family, friend, or community member). The volunteer stays with the hunter throughout the hunting experience. Midwest Outdoors Unlimited will supervise the hunts. Hunters are allowed to use shotguns or muzzleloaders.
2019 hunting dates:
Both Stearns County Parks will be closed to the general public during these special hunts.
