Per Minnesota Statute, the Public Health Division of Stearns County Human Services has been delegated by the County Board to regulate the sale of tobacco and tobacco products. Stearns County Tobacco Control: Ordinance #206 provides complete information about selling tobacco or tobacco products in the county.
Applying for an Annual License
An annual license from the Public Health Division of Stearns County Human Services is required to sell tobacco or tobacco products within areas of Stearns County located outside of cities and towns which license and regulate retail tobacco sales, as provided in Minnesota Statutes, section 461.12, subdivision 1.
Complete your license application now. The current fee is $245. You can submit payment online, or print the application and pay by mail with a check or money order.
Some cities and townships have their own ordinances, and you may apply for your license with them rather than with Stearns County. If you want to sell tobacco in a city or town we've listed, please contact that city or town clerk for licensing information.
